Respectfully I wish to put down my thoughts on the matter without claiming that I know the truth :
(1)To me the story of Adam(AS) in the Holy Quran is the most difficult to grasp fully in all its aspects.I struggled with it in vain.Finally,I came to the conclusion that some of the passages  concerned contain some mysteries of creation which are beyond the capacity  of most of us to understand.The capacity of human brain is limited(only a selected few  can cross the frontier by Allah Taala's grace).We should not try to cross the frontier of our brain's capacity.An ant cannot understand an elephant fully.
(2)Holy Quran itself says that some ofn its ayats are clear but some others are difficult or allegorical. The story of Adam(AS) probably falls in the second category.
(3)We should give more attention to what Allah Taala desires us to learn from the story:the value of repentance..
(4)There is no doubt about Free Will,for , without it,.. no crime will be punishable. Moreover, it is Free Will that separates man from animals.
(5)The ayats regarding Allah Taala's knowledge about everything simply means that our actions are all recorded. In this scientific age,it is inot difficult to imagine that our actions can somehow be recorded.
  We should not go back to the Middle Ages when Islamic scholars got bogged down with fruitless debates based on Greek philosiphy.
(6)The concept of Original Sin is abhorrent to Islam. One man's sin cannot pass to another. Adam's disobedience was forgiven by Allah Taala: that is the end of the matter.No necessity of Redemption by anyone.
(7) Holy Quran has not blamed Hawa(RA)--Eve,for Christians--for disobedience 
   Christian Church,on the other hand had blamed Eve.This led to a sort of misogyny.
This misogyny infiltrated Muslims  of the Middle Ages,including their clergy.It persists,especially among our clergy, while the christian society has largely overcome it.
   Incidentally, Holy Quran has accorded  exalted status to women as they suffer more for the preservation of the human race itself.
(8)Adam(AS) is our first Father and Hawa(RA) first Mother.Blaming them for us losing paradise appears to be a little disrespectful.Allah Taala Himself has not specifically declared anywhere that people have lost the bliss of paradise because of the sin committed by him.

তেৱেঁই তোমাৰ প্ৰতি এই কিতাব অৱতীৰ্ণ কৰিছে যিটোৰ কিছুমান আয়াত ‘মুহকাম’, সেইবোৰেই কিতাপৰ মূল; আৰু আনবোৰ হ'ল মুতাশ্বাবিহ, এতেকে যিহঁতৰ অন্তৰত বক্ৰতা আছে কেৱল সিহঁতেই ফিতনা আৰু ভুল ব্যাখ্যাৰ উদ্দেশ্যে মুতাশ্বাবিহাতৰ অনুসৰণ কৰে। অথচ আল্লাহৰ বাহিৰে আন কোনেও ইয়াৰ ব্যাখ্যা নাজানে; 🔴আৰু যিসকল জ্ঞানত সুগভীৰ তেওঁলোকে কয়, ‘আমি এইবোৰৰ প্ৰতি ঈমান পোষণ কৰো, এই সকলো আমাৰ ৰবৰ পৰা আহিছে’; আৰু জ্ঞান-বুদ্ধিসম্পন্ন লোকৰ বাহিৰে আন কোনেও উপদেশ গ্ৰহণ নকৰে।

3:7 -He (is) the One Who revealed to you the Book, of it (are) Verses absolutely clear - they (are) the foundation (of) the Book, and others (are) allegorical. Then as for those in their hearts (is) perversity - [so] they follow what (is) allegorical of it, seeking [the] discord and seeking its interpretation. And not knows its interpretation except Allah🔴. And those firm in [the] knowledge, they say, "We believe in it. All (is) from our Lord." And not will take heed except men (of) understanding.

As you may have noticed, interpretation of the last part of 3:7 depends on how one punctuates the verse. 

🔴If one stops after the word "God", then one will assume, as centuries of Sunni and Shiite scholars have, that even those who possess deep levels of knowledge will never be able to understand the "mutashabih" verses. However, if the sentence does not stop there, the meaning will change to the opposite: Those who possess knowledge will be able to understand the meaning of allegorical or multiple-meaning verses.

The Arabic word we have translated as "multiple meanings" is mutashabihat. The word comes from shabaha (to became similar), and its singular form is mutashabih, which means "similar," "multiple-meaning," or "allegorical" (see 2:118; 2:70; 4:157; 6:99; 6:141; 2:25). The verse about the mutashabih (allegorical or multi-meaning) verses itself is mutashabih. This is one of the most commonly mistranslated verses, and it has crucial implications for understanding the Quran. See 2:106; 16:44; 17:46; 23:14; 41:44; 56:79 for examples of multiple-meaning statements. Also, See 39:23.

The word can be confusing for a novice. Verse 39:23, for instance, uses mutashabihat for the entire Quran, referring to its overall similarity -- in other words, its consistency. In a narrower sense, however, mutashabihat refers to all verses which can be understood in more than one way. The various meanings or implications require some special qualities from the person listening to or reading the Quran: an attentive mind, a positive attitude, contextual perspective, the patience necessary for research, and so forth.

It is one of the intriguing features of the Quran that the verse about mutashabih verses of the Quran is itself mutashabih -- that is, it has multiple meanings. The word in question, for instance, can mean "similar", as we have seen; it can mean, "possessing multiple meanings"; it can also mean "allegorical" (where one single, clearly identifiable element represents another single, clearly identifiable element).
