Avoid the major(kabirah) sin.
đAvoid the major sinsđ
.
Allah (swt) said :
“If you avoid the major sins of what you have been forbidden to do, We will cancel out for you your (other) evil deeds and will admit you (to Paradise) with a noble entry.” (Surah Al Nisa’ 4:31)
“Those who avoid the greatest of sins and indecencies, and forgive when they are angry.” (Surah al Shura 42:37)
“Those who avoid the greatest sins and indecencies, except for oversights, (will find that) surely your Lord is ample in forgiveness.” (Surah Al Najm 53:32)
✔️Note-4:31, 7:202, 42:37, 91:7, 92:17

The only “major” sins as far as God is concerned would be making something a partner with God (shirk in Arabic). For example, issuing religious rules not authorized by God would be like being a partner with God because only God can make new rules. Or worshiping someone besides God is like making him a partner besides God because only God should be worshiped. Ascribing godhood to anyone but God (idol-worship) is making a partner with God because there is only One God. Basically doing any action for anyone or anything that should be reserved only for God is like making that one or that thing a partner with God.
To simplify it, the Arabic term “shirk” will be used. In the Quran, shirk is the only sin that God does not forgive. Meaning if one dies an idol-worshipper, it will not be forgiven:
[4:48] God does not forgive the association of partners with Him, and He forgives other than that for whomever He wills. Anyone who associates anything with God has forged a gross sin.
Anything else can be forgiven by God, even after death, if one is a believer:
[47:2] As for those who believe, do good deeds and believe in what was brought down upon Muhammad, which is the truth from their Lord, He wipes out their bad deeds and grants them peace of mind.
